You know that wedding vase that is believed to show the marriage between the king of Ugarit and an Amarna princess? I was just wondering if there were any pictures of it, just for curiosity's sake.

Would you like me to search? I might not come up with much, but I'll try!

That's interesting i never heard anything about that before. Are we sure she was a Princess? I am sceptical for two reasons: 1) Egyptian princesses didn't marry foreigners, at least not until a lot later (Solomon etc)
2) If their was a true Amarna princess available for Horemheb to marry, then surely he would have married her instead of Mutnojmet who was only a member by marriage. Maybe she was just a high ranking female. I remember reading something somewhere of a Prince who asked for an egyptian princess and after some time was sent a lady who he later found out was not a princess mearly and aristocrat. Maybe this was her.

Probable. Though "barbarian" was Greek, I bet the Egyptians used it first. They didn't like outsiders. They thought they were lesser. Most of the time, they were right! LOL. And I'm English!

I think we had this topic pretty much covered at the forum of AntiquatedIdeas.com.

Too bad that there are so much Egypt boards and we Egypt fans are scattered this much. :)

The closest pic of the vase I found in a book that I don't know whether it was ever translated to English. I don't know who's got the idea that this girl was an Amarna princess. There's nothing that refers to it.
