I'm confused...didn't they educate the royal children on practically everything they need to know about being a royal? So wouldn't both brothers have somewhat equal abilities if they went through the same training?
Hi Ankhesenap-aten, While it is rather easy to see where you might be confused. There isn't any real need to be. Your right the King's sons would all recieve more or less the same education. It is in thinking that the brothers might have equal abilities is where you allow confusion to enter.
Take for example Queen Elizabeth II's younger sons, Andrew and Edward. Andrew is a natural warrior prince and still serves in the British military. While Andrew gave up his mandatory military education in preference for the creatiave arts of the stage and TV. Edward may or may not have had equal abilities in milarty life, like his older brother did. We won't ever really know. Because he found greater rewards in the creative arts.
I hope this helps to clear your confusion over the possible differences between say Thutmosis, and Akhenaten the sons of Amenhotep III and Tiye. Their education wouldn't have matter, what really matter was what did each son find most important to himself.
