Yes im surprised no one else has commeneted on this. The show with the DNA testing was shown in the UK the other day. Don't know why they didn't try this a long time ago but they did leave one question not properly answered. The body they identified as Akhenaten was definitely the father of Tut and the son of Tiye and I think this is probably the most likely senario. We know from previous skull examinations on the body that it shared a first degree relationship with Tut meaning father and son or brother and brother. BUT! They didn't, for me at least, identify the mummy of Akhenaten beyong reasonable doubt. What if it was Smenkhare who would then have been Tuts father and a younger brother of Akhenaten. If you discount the Nefertiti is Smenkhare theory, would explain why Smenkhare preceeded Tut to the throne. Of course they may have thought Tut, at that point, too young to suceed if his father was Akhenaten.

I have just finished watching the Zahi Hawass show (officially ‘King Tut Unwrapped’ on the discovery channel) that I videoed. I enjoyed it and got a lot of interesting information – he had a major problem with one of his feet – did it make him unsteady and break his leg? The program made some assertions which I do not see any support for.
It seems to have been a popular program – they sold a lot of advertising time.
I wonder what effect it will have on any Egyptologists who’s pet theory has been destroyed.

That's probably because most of us are sick of the lies that spill out from Hawass and his team.

Smenkhare did not precede Tut to the throne. He was Tut's older brother who 'died' before Akhenaten.

Please do not assert this point as if it was accepted FACT! Your trying to contradict me with a assertion that isn't even true.
No one knows for certain Smenkhare was Tut's brother but we do know that someone called Smenkhare preceeded Tut on the throne ruling for approx three years whether or not Smenkhare was Tut's father, brother or Nefertiti in disguise. How much of this three years was spent in a co-regency with Akhenaten, if any, is anyone's guess but he didn't 'die' before Akhenaten. Check your facts before making unsubstantiated assertions like the above.

There is no need for you to be rude dear lady. I do not lie and I do know that what I said is true. Having the ability to communicate with spirit enables one to gain information that is true. Just because there is no evidence yet found in the physical realm, does not mean certain things to be true.

The Smenkhare I refer to was the older brother of Tutankhamun but he did not live long enough to take the throne, not even as co-regent. I'm sorry if you do not believe me but you have your right to what you believe as I have mine. I do not feel it is fair to attack me verbally.

I would very much like to see the evidence that Smenkhare became pharaoh after Akhenaten and before Tutankhamun if you would be so kind.

I found the King Tut Unwrapped show very intersting.

Okay so one day my Mom gave me a snippet of newspaper from my grandma to me and it talked about some mummies found. I screamed and yelled and went straight to the computer. I pulled up Hawass' website and it was true. Akhenaten, Tiye, Tut's mom, Ankhesenpaaten, and Kv 21 B !I was so happy! I danced and my heart was beating so fast!!!! Sorry, but that was a true story.

Sotepenre, why do you feel the need to show annoyance at people who do not share your views on certain subjects? As I understand it, Kawab was merely responding to another member's post and stating his reasons for doing so. Was there really any need for you to respond with 'Kawab guy, cool it okay?'
From what I can see here on this board, there is very little activity at present and I would think the staff would like it to pick up but comments like yours are not really displaying encouraging vibrations to other new members, are they?
It would be nice if there was more activity here, & posting some interesting topics for discussion but refraining from picking fault with those of differing opinions would, I think, be more productive & encouraging to other members.
There will always be people who do not share our opinions on various things but there are times when disgression is best - a time to keep quiet. This avoids ill feelings.
