A massive wall that was built in the Giza area, it is thought to be a seperation of the workers from the pyramid complex on which they were working.

Correct - it does not seem to have been finished-the stones are still rough. Anywhere else but near the great pyramid it would be a major tourist site. The lintel over door is big even for Giza. It is 10m high and 10m thick at the base.
The name is modern arabic
The first web site I found says'the angle of the line of ancient sites is the same as the azimuth of the line as it crosses over Giza. From left to right, the marked sites are Easter Island, Nazca, Ollantaytambo, Tassili n'Ajjer, Siwa, Giza, Petra, Ur, Perseopolis, Mohenjo Daro, Khajuraho, Pyay, Sukothai and Angkor.' - interesting especialy considering the range of dates and cultures these sites cover.

I assume from its massive size it was planned as a ceremonial entrance.

Just noticed a bit more in my notes - the gate is 2.5m wide so like a tunnel. 1 block is 200 tons.
The wall only covers a very short section of the perimeter of the Giza sitev

There have been quite a few theories posed explaining the wall, but none is accepted by all concerned.
Some believe it was built as the original entrance to the pyramid complex: Others, that it was started, but never completed, again as the main entrance to the complex.
One of the latest, and most widely accepted, is that is was built to seperate the workman's village from the complex being built, but that doesn't explain why it was so massive.
It's a real puzzle. It isn't very long--I think it's about 600 yards, and no one knows why such a huge block of stone was used as the lintel.
