I am in the process of writing a historical fiction novel about the time between Nefertiti's marriage to Akhenaten and the death of Tutankhamen (they are the two main characters.) I would LOVE any specific details about their lives, Akhenaten's, Ay's, Horemheb's, Tiy's, Mutnojme's, Ankhesenamun's, or ANYONE that was even remotely related to either Nefertiti or Tutankhamen.
I am making it mostly like a soap opera to have it be interesting... but I am strictly going by any detailed facts that are proven or 99% likely to be accurate. Here is the basic plotline as of now...

1355 - Nefertiti and Akhenaten are married to one another at the ages of 9
1351 - Nefertiti gives birth to Smenkhkare (Smenkhkare and Tutankhamen are sons of a man named Amon, Nefertiti's childhood friend and lover in her years of womanhood, she loves both him and Akhenaten deeply)
1350 - Meritaten is born
1349 - Meketaten and Ankhenspaaten are born
1343 - Tutankhaten is born
1339 - Neferneferuaten is born
1336 - Setepenre and Neferneferure are born, Meketaten dies in childbirth
1335 - Nefertiti is murdered by Ay and Horemheb, hoping it will ruin Akhenaten (who loves her more than life itself, they are counting on being next in throne seeing as he has no sons), Akhenaten finds Smenkhkare and Tutankhamen and takes them in as his own sons, he makes Smenkhkare his co-regent and Smenkhkare marries Meritaten
1333 - Smenkhkare dies, leaving Tutankhamen as ruler
1327 - Ankhesenamun births a premature daughter
1326 - Ankhesenamun births stillborn daughter
1324 - Tutankhamen is murdered by Ay and Horemheb

There is more added inbetween all these vague events... but these are the rough dates and main plot events. Please, I would LOVE constructive criticism, ideas, suggestions, facts about their lives, anything that may help. Nothing is set in stone!

Oi! I need to change my story now cuz there's too many people on this site writing stories about Tut.

Good luck with your story.

Well, I am doing one but I actually think it will end long before Tut! I am on page seventy something and Amenhotep is still sole ruler, not even had his first heb sed yet!!! It may end up being just him and Tiy.

Well, though I don't know anything to add, I do share the sentiments of the people who posted. Good luck with this story, and I hope it goes really well!

Ciao Nefetrtiti-tasherit....
unfortunately I am not able to help you, but I can tell you for sure that we still don't know anything about-
- who is Smenkhara and how he died;
-who is the mother of Tut..probably Kyia;
-How Nefertiti died;
-who exactly was mr Ay (father of Nefertiti?);
-the exact role of Horemheb in this story is not clear, only suppositions;
-last, but not least, we don't know how Tut died...
-we don't even know how his wife and half sister Ankhesenamon died and if she actually married Ay;
-another thing which is not clear is the political ideas of Horemheb, at least until he became king. After that he certanly tried to restor the old order in the Kingdom of Khemet.

Other things are just suppositions...there are still a lot of things that we cannot explain or give reason ....which, on the other hand, can be a good basis for a novel.

well, good luck on your book! :wink:

Thanks to all of you that replied...

Maatkara - These are actually all the things that I'm basically just making up... I'm going by what tiny facts there are and just building a story that is meant to be intriguing.

Here are my answers:

Smenkhkare is the son of Nefertiti, but not Akhenaten (same with Tut) - this explains why neither are shown with the royal family in the many portraits of them all together...

I wanted Nefertiti as the mother to Tut... mostly just because she is the first main character, and in the story they have many of the same traits anyway

I have Nefertiti intitially getting sick with the plague... then Ay and Horemheb working together to poison her... there is lots of evidence that Akhenaten loved Nefertiti very very much and is very weak due to his illness, so I have them counting on it destroying Akhenaten and throwing suspicion off them (this is also before either of them know about Tut or Smenkhkare, so they would be much closer to the throne)

I do have Ay as the father of Nefertiti... they are a lot alike in traits except that... well Nefertiti had no initial desire for the throne and has a kind heart (Ay obviously doesn't)

Horemheb I have as just being Ay's wingman basically... he is loyal to the royal family, but Ay really just takes control of him, corrupts him mostly

As the ending of my book, Horemheb leads Tutankhamen out fairly far in the desert where Ay is waiting and they murder him (bash to the head turns out to be fatal)

That being the ending... I have nothing thought up for Horemheb's political views ;-)

Again, any ideas, suggestions or constructive criticism (or ANYTHING that cannot be true in the story) I'd love to hear!!
