For the IB program I basically have to write a big in-depth essay about anything I want. Anyways, I was thinking of doing something about how Amarna period art is so different because of religious influence. (I was thinking maybe something about how it's designed in a way that best incorporates elements of the old religion into the new Heliocentric religion.) Does anyone have any books/articles/ideas they'd like to reccomend for me?

Ciao Tadukhipa and all! I read your post and I took an egyptian art book to see if there was something concerning the period you would like to analize, but this book only deals with the egyptian art of "Last Egypt", i.e: the Egypt of foreigners dominations....

Hi! The Oxford's book has pretty much information on the Amarna period, (Amarna-fan, too :P:)) but Joyce Tyldesley has got some interesting facts, too and also Kent R. Weeks wrote about Akhenaten in 'The lost tomb'. :) Hmm... Art... This site has got some nice examples which could be helpful... err, no other things yet, but I'll search for some more ones...

I bought "The lost tomb" this summer, but I have to read it yet. My friend Tiye told me it's an interesting book!

On another board someone pointed us to this site from the Berlin museum:

http://www.hieroglyphen.net/andere/berlinaegmus4a.htm

It shows some pieces from the workshop of the sculptor Thutmose.

I love the images on that site :D
