I hate to bring everyone down to earth with a thud, but those of you who think that you used to be Hatshepsut or Akhenaten or something are making complete an utter fools of yourselves. I don't mean to have got the wrong end of the stick here, but it seems that this thread has been created with sole purpose of humiliating obssesive Egyptomaniacs.
It is perfectly acceptable to have a healthy interest in Egypt and her civilisation, but believing that you were there is either just 'wishful' thinking, or some sort of strange fantasy. Really, unless you are a Buddhist or Hindu (in which case you would be a true believer in Samsara) then I suggest that you think before you speak. Sometimes it is nice to lie to yourself and say (for example) that you have magic powers, or can 'prove' that you were an Ancient Egyptian. What Bel said for example, can be accounted by either a lie or (more probably) subconcious transfer.

In response to the whole 'how can you believe in God and the Big Bang Theory?' thing. . . . most Christians do. The discovery of more complex scientific routes for our Universe only further strengthens the claim for a 'creator' outside of this plane. And regardless of whether it is omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent, I believe that it can be called a creator. The theory of infinite regression (as an upshot of the cosmological argument) argues that something cannot be created from nothing, as that defies the laws of science, and yet the irrefutable theories of both Heisenburg's uncertainty principle and (for you astro-physicists) the theory of Relativity prove that the Universe has not existed for an infinite amount of time. I'll explain that if you don't understand- just ask. But anyway, if the Universe had a beginning then something (or someone) must have created it. Something outside of this plane. A 'creator'.

And there is NO WAY you can trace yourself back that far. Its impossible. But I guess...trying to be neutral, it can be fun to pretend. Staying in a certain boundary of sanity. When you take it "seriously" it becomes questionable.

Psusennes, I'll just say I'll agree, but honostly, I have no idea what you just said. I am not into any religion and am not baptised and find it all fake. I don't believe in Heaven and Hell being separete from Earth, I believe they're both on earth.

First and foremost you nor is anyone else entitled to consider yourself judge or keeper of men. Modern science has taught us that we are born with the slate of our lives partially marked, but there is still room for character and choice.
Long ago I would have said that religion was my choice but the road has been so long wide stretching that I would now have to call it spiritual. My claim to be Hashepsut reincarnate is no willy nilly subject. I have asked (as is my choice) to better serve mankind in whatever way our creator has deemed most important for me. For I know for fact that one day I will stand before my father and have to account to no one but him for my action's. As in .... standing before your father in judgement. By stating that my presense is demeaning and absurd because of my past life connection than you merely shorten your broad scope and/or frame of mind. It is also a well known fact that past lives are a truth not a farce. Maybe you should get w/the program instead of labeling other's and look to see where the truth will take you. You do not know everything and just to prove a point ... you referred to me as foolish: If you are a pupil of the bible than what have you just done to yourself? Again you are not anybody else's judge nor keeper whether you believe me or not, it is your choice, but is does not dismiss all truth's simply because it is your belief. I know what I have experienced and it is so unmeasurable that this site has not time nor space for where I have been lead. I come here because I know instinctually about ancient Egypt and you guy's lead me on study's that alway's end up reverberating my stance. Again, the Bible was written by several men to try and rule over you all and make you believe into everything you read. And it seems to be working quite well. Very very sad.... I'm sure all of you insanely religious people believe the headlines "Marylin Monroe Found...ALIVE!" or "Jesus walks again!". Well, it's really ridiculous to say that Jesus was resurrected or walked on water, that Moses parted the Red Sea and helped all the enslaved Hebrews escape from Egypt. I don't see how anyone can believe all that garbage.

MEMPHITE SCHOOL

Perhaps the greatest mystic gift comes from the Ancient Egyptian Memphite School of 4,000 to 5,000 years ago. The world's first historical statement on creation can be traced to that school. It is humanity's first recorded trinity. It presents the creator God Ptah's sequential steps to creation. 1

We owe the preservation of the Memphite School teaching to Pharaoh Shabaka. He was one of Egypt's Nubian black Pharaohs. He reigned from 716 to 698 B.C. Shabaka found some old, worm-eaten papyri records. He read them and realized their importance. To better preserve them he had them carved into a flat stone. As the teachings appeared to be those of the old Memphite School, the stone had been called the Memphite Stone. It is also known as the Shabaka Stone. It is on exhibit at the British Museum (No. 498).

Unfortunately, an Egyptian farmer, unaware of the stone's worth, had used it as a base stone for grinding wheat. There's a square hole in the stone's center and eleven grooves radiate from that center. So, part of the writings was destroyed. However, there is enough remaining that is still readable. This stone presents what is probably a record of humanity's first statement on creation.

The concepts expressed on the stone were probably taught in Memphis two to three thousand years before Christ. In brief, the stone states creation takes place from the thoughts that arise from the heart and reach the tongue.

Some 60 years ago, Dr. James Breasted, one of America's foremost Egyptologist translated the writings on the stone.

"...Came into being heart and there came into being tongue.... The heart thinks what it will and the tongue
commands what it will.... It is the latter (heart) which causes all decisions to be made, but it is the tongue
which reports what the heart has thought out. Thus is all action, whether simple or complex, carried out....
All is in accord with the command which the heart has devised and which has appeared upon the tongue.
Thus is determined the peculiar nature of everything."

It further states:

"I was the maker of myself, in that I formed myself according to my desire and in accord with my heart."

Therefore, I say, "Ol' Studier's of religion, Christ, Buddha and Ancient Egypt. Why narrow our view, when we can learn to rely upon our making, instead of our self imposed ego's. We are much more than we can even imagine .. the source of our being (creator).
It amaze's me that the people that "study" Ancient Egypt know so little about it's feeling's. Wake-up people. There is so much more than self limiting view's; mine included!

The Shabaqo stone is now in the British Museum. When I first saw it I almost shouted in anger. I ran up to it and squinted frantically at the effaced wording to the centre (not the center!) and hoped that somehow I would be able to make it out- but I couldn't. It is just horrible to look at the upper right hand corner and read all of the names of Ptah- "Ptah-the-Perfect, at the head of the nine Gods, he who bore all that is here. . ." and then suddenly come to blank stone. As though the workmen who incised the text hadn't yet finished.

Ankhesenpa-aten, I did not intend to insult your religion at all, although your facetious signature led me to believe that you only show a passing interest in the religion. I apologise gravely and wholeheartedly- my post was intended only as a statement, and if you read it again I am sure you will realise that it contains no deliberately offensive material.

Secondly, Bel. I am now withdrawing from this topic, but before I do so I'd like to get a few things straight. Primarily I am not a Christian. My religious viewpoint is that of a reluctant agnostic, and so I see myself as in the perfect position to argue in both directions when it comes to religious debates. I would also like to say, quite openly, that I do not understand the bulk of your posts. This may be because I lack the neccessary spiritual capacity, but there is only one way to find out. In the next life- if there is one- our questions will be answered. If you sit as Osiris below your fathers and forefathers, described by the texts of old, then you can inflict judgement on me then. But not until then.
