What was the foreign policy of Egypt during the reign of King Tut?

Hi Cat, Once Tutankhamun restored the Old God's position in Egypt. Foreign policy became important.
Hittite's King Suppiluliuma I had lavished gifts upon Akhenaten to further weaken the traditional allience between Egypt and Mitanni. This allience dated back into the reign of Akhenaten's grandfather Thutmosis IV.
During Akhenaten's reign Mitanni's King Tushratta had a falling out between the two kingdom's. It is believed because Akhenaten didn't keep the agreements made by his father Amenophis III and Tushratta. This and Suppiluliuma's rich gifts allowed him to assult and take over the Kingdom of Mittanni. Egypt did nothing to protect or assist their old allies of Mittanni.

By the time of Tutankhamun, Suppiluliuma was beginning to take cities that had been Egyptian since the reign of Thutmosis III. The most important of these cities was Aleppo. It actually changed hands several times between Hittite and Egypt after Suppiluliuma had taken it for the first time.

Assyria was also creeping up into the area of foreign affairs during the reign of Tukankhamun. With the defeat of Tushratta of Mittanni by Suppiluliums, Mittanni was unable to keep the Assyrians from growing in power.
