I've seen this picture. I thought it was funny. I didn't like it because (not to be rude) it seemed like something a christian would say (the ones who are against everything that God would not approve of).

Anyways, you may ask how does Hitler eating a watermelon relate in any way to Ancient Egypt? Well here's how!

Stan Rice (husband of the famed author Anne Rice) is a poet and artist. One his paintings is called "Hitler denies to six million jews the watermelon of life. Here is an excerpt from a review :

"...For instance, the most recent painting in the show, Hitler Denies to Six Million Jews the Watermelon of Life, is a pastiche, a collage featuring the painted central image of an elderly Jewish gentleman strikingly like Albert Einstein in front of a huge red watermelon slice. The watermelon is like a memento of the rural South–all flanked by a photo of Hitler and fans, scene of a hanging, etc...."

Stan Rice did another painting called False Prophet. The subject of this painting may look familiar to some of you.



It is the famous mummified babboon from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo!


So you see for once Pink Floyd (or whatever his name is this week) really did post something to do with Ancient Egypt afterall, even if remotely linked!

Dont you dare mention red wine. I went out at the weekend, I felt so ill! Anyway, I could never argue against a fellow Brit male, we need to ally ourselves together on this boarrd as there are so few of us! I like a good debate, but sometimes I find that people dislike being proved wrong and start to take it below the belt (cough Pink_Floyd cough) lol. I just wish people could take intelligent argument a bit more like gentlemen (or ladies).

well...I'm an American woman with a European boyfriend. And hey...can't we all just get along?

Of course we can all gt along, it is just nice to know that there are people out there who are close to me and have had a similar background. Otherwise you feel a tiny bit isolated in these boards if you are the only Brit, or the only male. I know you are mostly all really friendly but it is good to be able to identify with someone, to be able to share memories of places and have seen the same things.
