Another very good talk at my Egypt society (in Taunton)

It was on pharohs birds. As you might expect he disagreed with many identifications - not just Garners Jabiru which is a south American bird e.g. the swallow hieroglyph might be either 1 of 3 martins or the common pratincole.
Originaly the Benu bird was the yellow wagtailwhich was pale when it arrived & bright yellow when it left. Climate change meant it was replaced by the new kingdom.
another thing that struck me when he showed several naqada perion knife handles was the arrangement was very similar
Top register might be elephants
Next register was long legged birds with a mammal near the end & there was often 1 secretary bird leading the line of birds (& probably others I did not notice). Is there anything on the web about this?
