First thing, Akhenaten was shown before he was Pharaoh. In only one or two reliefs though. His older brother Thutmose was shown more....As for why Tut was not shown with the daughters, I have read that it was considered...'bad mojo' to show the next 'Horus' (as was mentioned above) and then I have read this on top of the other-only Royal children were shown with the Royal family. Tut was half. Therefore, he cannot be shown with Nefertiti (Great Royal Wife), Akhenaten (Pharaoh), and their six children (who are of pure royal descent.)

...I, however, believe Smenkhare and Nefertiti to be one in the same soooooo.......I think Smenkhare's representations are....because SHE is royal. (If you notice......Those who are not royal do not have the same Marfan characteristics as does ALL of the Royal family.)
