Honestly, you didn't understand your own senence? You're saying that I'm a riddle within a riddle (like the day I found a Fruit Loop in my Count Chocula) that is lost within the depths of time and space (e.g. Bermuda Triangle).

Another way to go about it is that a riddle must be solved to understand the puzzle, but the key has been lost.

...Really, it doesn't get simpler than that.
