I think it was supposed to be some sort of joke. But it clearly failed. Jokes that have to be explained are rarely funny - and when they are they rarely elicit more than a forced 'ha.'

No, it wasn't meant as a joke... I don't try to be funny, because I know that trying is the first step toward failure. The word maturity just slipped my mind ..for one reason or another (I remember thinking about something else when posting, but don't remember what)..

Well bel (and anyone else), believe it or not, but I actually do try to maintain a respectable nature in my dealings with people in day to day life. Forgive me for my mental shortcomings online, but this is a place to unwind, and not have to deal with the harsh realities of well, reality.

As per the thirties or fourties part, I meant that you show a level of restraint that I see mostly in adults (e.g. thirty or forty year olds). This is why I rarely spend my time with people my own age or younger - I don't like to deal with idiocy (I don't know if idiocy is the right word, seeing as the root is originally meant to describe non-voters...) of people. You know, things like lying, hypocracy, arrogance, etc.

...Though I suppose one could argue that I myself am being hypocritical to myself in the essence that I escape to the online world to "turn the cheeck", as it were, and at times be the annoying little shit I dispise myself. To that, I say, "meh".
