I'm writing a fictional book about Egypt. One of my main characters is Ramses I, but I can't find any information about him. Does anybody know of anywhere I can look?

Rameses I Menpehtyre(1293-1291 bce) became pharaoh
almost by default.
He was previously the vizier, close friend and confidant of pharaoh
Horemheb,who having failed to produce an heir-appears to have
bestowed the succession on his comrad. Rameses must have been
a man in his fifties at the time, and was not of royal blood.
He was a 'career' army officer, the son of a troop comander
named Seti.
Their familly came from the north-eastern Delta area of Avaris, the
capitol of the Hyksos invaders from 400 years earlier.
Rameses I reigned a short time , 2 years perhaps-but he
had an heir Seti I (meryenptah) Menmaatre (1291-1278 bce).

So began the 19th dynasty.

:lol: yes! Little is known of his specific acts, except that he was a commander under the former Pharaoh, Haremhab, who is supposed to have chosen him as his successor. Ramses 1 had the colonnaded hall in the temple at Karnak built.Is it sufficient:?:

Oh, my GOSH!! Smenkhkare, I've tried to be patient, I've tried to be kind. Now, you've asked this question before, so PLEASE DON'T FLOOD THE BOARDS. Now, we aren't racist. We are just more interested in the Egyptians, so we don't really talk about the Romans much. Find a Roman board for yourself. That will help.
