While I agree that the movie is complete bull, I think you must give Disney their dues.
Disney is always right about everything, unfortunately... they're also so completely wrong it's aggrevating, angering, mind boggling, just ... stupid!
My best example would be Poccahontas (spelling?). This movie is about the famed Sacajewia (spelling..??). Why they needed to add a love interest between her and John West (I think), leave out Lewis and/or Clark's travel compainion, and other things of the sort... I don't know. However, children learn the basics of the story, whereas school (or parents, if the parents are half decent human beings) fill in the gaps, correct the errors, etc.
Disney sucks. |

Prince of Egypt isn't made by Disney. It's a Dreamworks film. The funniest thing about it is...it's banned in Egypt _________________

Well, same thing. Dumb things down for children and screw it into oblivion to create not only a mockery, but the theft of a story.
And... that's pretty funny; The Prince of Egypt banned from Egypt |

I believe it's banned because it's biblical. Jim Carrey's Bruce Almighty is banned as well.
There are 6 films banend in Egypt; this a link to the list on IMDB
http://imdb.com/List?certificates=Egypt:(Banned)&&heading=14;Egypt:(Banned) _________________

I am not sure if it is banned because it is Biblical because in all fairness 10% of Egypts population are Coptic Christian so it isn't all that anti-Christian as a country! I think it is more to do with the fact that it shows Egypt in a poor poor light, making the Egyptian history seem evil and stupid (look at the magicians and the song about the Gods! Grrrrr). Remembver how Patriotic the Egyptian people generally are and how they almost swing towards nationalism, how do you think that film would go down there! lol _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |

Thankyou, also please remember that Egypt is still an Arab nation, even though it is more liberal than most of the othe others. However, because it is an arab nation it does have to comply with what a lot of other nations say, thus as the arab leaugue is generally anti-Israeli films such as "the pianist" have been banned in many Arab states. If you look at "Prince of Egypt" it tells the story of a group of Jews leaving an arab nation to found Israel. To condone the film in an arab nation would be to legitamise the State of Israel, something an arab nation cant been seen to do. In the film a group of Jews actually defeat what is now an arab country, not a very easy thoguht when the two sides are at war and the arabs want to see themselves as historys victor. Egypt is at the heart of many political struggles, especially between itself and Israel on an internatinal level and between a theocracy and secular state domestically. _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |
