Prob scorpion king, it isnt directly ancient egept themed but hey, it has that great fight scene between the rock and Mich Clark Duncan. however the newest mumy movies are just cool, with all the magic and stuff, its good to get away _________________ I like people,

there was a tv series in Arabic called 'God the One and Only', mainly about Moses after he returned to Egypt. this was one of my fav though!
then, the classic 'ten commandments', 'cleopatra', 'prince of egypt', 'the mummy', 'the return of mummy'... thats all that i can remember. |

Has anyone seen "Joseph King of Dreams" (still made by the Prince of Egypt people). The innacuracies in that one could make you cry. _________________ *Tadukhipa*

Has no one seen either of the BIG Cleopatra films? One with Elizabeth Taylor and one with Leonaor Varela? They were both brilliant. There was also one in the 50's/60's with Joan Collins in which was quite good. It was how the captive wife of a Pharaoh murders him and then meets her own interesting come upence. It was very good, but still very Hollywood. _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |

Yep. Joseph (who is voiced by Ben Affleck if anyone cares) lives in Egypt and becomes second in command etc. There are so many dumb inaccuracies though, and I can't stand the music. _________________ *Tadukhipa*

Prince of Egypt made me scream. I found it disrespectful to have Ramses II, probably one of our greatest kings as a cartoon. How rude is it to have two priests as tricksters and fools who dance and sing. I found it insulting to the intelligence of the ancient people who in many ways had a far intellectually superior religious ideology and belief system than those of the modern day USA. I am sorry if this sounds rude but it really bugged me. The priests of Ra were a powerful and noble force, not a fat and thin / tall and short comedy duo. _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |

You can have Taylor in her Cleopatra role. i am not familiar with the other my all time favorite is none other than Claudette Colbert in Cecil B. DeMille's 1934 Cleopatra. Oh! God! Is she a Cleopatra to die for her gowns, make Taylor's look like rags! Even though it is in black and white, the beauty of Egypt under Colbert flows. It also contains one of the funniest scenes where Anthony the pig (he really was) dines for the first time with Cleopatra after Caesar's death. Now we know how she caught Anthony LOL! If any of you can get the chance to see this Cleopatra do watch it. For many of us that have seen both it is this Cleopatra that we long for. _________________
