Hey, I just thought I'd list the Kemetic names of the Nertjeru, being that most of the names as we know them are actually Greek translations...

(Greek to Kemetic)

Isis: Aset, Iset
Hathor: Het-Hert
Anukis: Anket
Bastet: Bast
Edjo, Buto: Wadjet
Mayet: Ma'at
Nephthys: Nebt-het
Neith: Nit

Thoth: Djehuty
Seth: Set
Serapis: Wesir-hapi
Suchos: Sebek
Osiris: Wesir, Ausar
Imouthis: Imhotep
Horus: Heru, Hor
Abubis: Yinepu

I myself always use the Kemetic versions, I feel it is disrespectful to use the other Greek versions, being that is not Their true names.

BTW are you sure about the Het-Hert one? I always thought the "hor" part in Hathor's name comes from the name of Horus, so the name itself means "Palace of Horus" which is refering to their relationship.

I know why is English always have to use Greek,I mean a name is a name there is no reason to change it.

I personally always use the Kemetic names, and I use the questions as an opportunity to educate relevent people about my religion. Some people seem almost to get angry over it, though. That's how used to the Greek names they are!

I've seen more than one name for Hathor, but Het-Hert is probably the most common.

As far as I know, the "real" name of Isis is Ese, Nephtys is Nebr-Hut (or Neber-Hut), Osiris is Usir and Hathor is Hut-Heru.
The differences to what Meritsekhmet said may be due to the fact, that the book about Hieroglyphs I own is a German one. Wink

the same way we know Spanish and we're in the US. They take foreign language and I bet their parents teach them since England and the US are such influencial countries, so English is good to know.

Ya , I guess but I mean English is hard to learn and I do not know spanish I mean I might know how to speak alittle bit of it but when it comes to writing Spanish I am really bad. But your right about English being an important Language so I guess they learn it at a young age well at least earlier than Americans who try to learn it when they are really past the best time to really learn a second language.
