Here in Southern California, I understand it's now over 40% of the population that are from Spanish-speaking areas.
In the Middle and High schools, there are approximately 18 different languages spoken by students. The list just goes on and on--Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Thai, Arabic, Danish, Finnish--you name it, it's spoken in L.A.

That when they were children Osiris was given a better bike than Seth for Christmas and that is what really sparked off the row. I bet you didn't know that! lol

This conversation seems to have burned itself out, so I going to try (probably in vain) to get it going again- this is quite a good subject.

I think perhaps a common misconception is that Seth is the 'baddie'. This isn't neccesarily true however. According to 'Chester Beatty Papyrus', after Osiris' death the gods did not know who should succeed him.
Seth did have his good points after all- he defended the Solar boat as it made its course through Netherworld. Without Seth's help the great serpent Apophis would have overthrown the sun each night- and thus it would never rise again. Re himself apparently wished that Seth should succeed- as he was older and wiser than Horus.
Many Kings also worshiped Seth most highly- Seti and Sethnakhte even included his name in their own.

Anyone have any new opinions?

Eww. I hate shows and movies where Ancient Egypt is 1000 years ahead of it's time. It's just not right.

It is almost as bad as when they take a historical character and make them hoolywood. For example:

Seti I - Prince of Egypt
Seti I - The Mummy
Scorpion - The Scorpion King
Ramses II - The Prince of Egypt
Cleopatra - Cleapatra

Grrrrrrrr, it makes me mad! Why cant they do a nice, realistically charactered set of people as the main characters. Is Egypt alone not exciting enough for Hollywood? Maybe they need to delve into their history books and realise that the personalities of the ancient Egyptians were as colourfully bright as people now.
