You could have said, "may I ask why?" ... or "are you CrAzY?!"

I just wondered how can people make bigger avatars than 60x60? Because lot of people uses more bigger than it (for example Si-Amun, Psusennes I and so on), but when I want to upload a bigger one, it always writes that the avatar is too big. So, anyone who has a bigger avatar than 60x60: how did you make it? I wondered if the solution of my problem is that I always want to upload from my own server. Maybe if I'd upload from the internet, I could use bigger ones? Hope you answer soon... not a quite important question, I'm just interested in. _________________ http://belldandy.freeblog.hu --> my blog site |

I'm glad to give information I don't know the answer to, as always Lostris! _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

You knew the answer, Unas! Uploading anything to the site adds bandwidth so it's 60x60 for any image. Linking to an image from another site doesn't add bandwidth (I don't think it does anyway) and which allows you a bigger image
I linked my image from Photobucket _________________

Awesome! Now if I have the urge to blow up my face into massive proportion, I know what to do! ....that didn't quite come out right... _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

Blimey, these are old posts! I'm trying to put my avatar up but the darn thing is far too big! This is the image (found on yahoo images). It comes up fine here of course but too big on my avatar.
...
Can anyone help? _________________

All you really need to make avatars is paint and a photobucket account, if you don't want anything fancy like animated gifs. You can copy/paste images into paint and from there resize or crop them - resize keeps the image intact but makes it smaller, crop... well, it crops off part of the image. From there it's all a matter of HOW you resize and crop.
I could make something for you if you like, but it's really not that difficult. _________________ That money speaks
