| Well, strictly speaking, he did not "invent" The Aten who was a minor manifestation of the sun god. He simply made him the sole god of Egypt. |

Amount of time hard labor building egypt a sort of slave punishment for only a few years then caught twice maybe life as a slave. Egypt was built from man power and great engineering projects that boggle our minds to this day. _________________ Judd tut |

ok, Tnress, I got it now!
is there ANY evidence...yes, there is, indeed the cult of the other gods was not erased. The aim was to give complete power back to the king himself. What Akhenton did was to establish that Amon was not anymore important as he was until that moment, declaring that the most important god was Aton and that the king was the sole able and authorised to speak and to interprete the will of the main god. The result was that the great power of the priets of the god Amon passed immediately to the hands of Akhenaton. He and his family were then venerated as gods themselves, but there are no proves that the other cults were erased in anyway, not even that of Amon. |

i have wondered if after akhenaton there were people who blamed a certain group for all the "evils" of the Armana period _________________ If you listen very carefully, you can hear the gods are laughing. |
