Well, the Sphinx isn't really that tall. I don't know if anyobdy's allowed to climb the Sphinx... but I don't think it would be a huge feat. Usually when they have photos, they really work on the camera angle to make it look comparable to the pyramids in size. |

I bet they would not allow you to climb it.
People would mess it up. |

| Why would you want to climb a Pyramid in the first place? |

If you want to climb go on a climbing holiday, do not scale one of the worlds oldest and most enduring monuments! You are not allowed even to the base of the Sphinx anymore, it has been sectioned off and what do you mean the sphinx isn't even that tall??? Have you seen it? For a civilisation without the wheel, four and a half thousand years old I think that they did a preety good job. The great pyramid was the worlds tallest building until 1882, when the eiffel tower was built. It would dwarf most modern buildings for heavens sake, let alone a 4,500 year old sculpture! When I went to Karnak i was outraged to see flocks of Japanese tourists climbing over the altar in the holy of holies, it is an ancient temple - not a childrens playground. People need to respect Egyptian heritage a bit more, it is because of such thoughtless acts that it is disappearing. Sorry about this little rant, i think i got carried away! lol. _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |

It was also the worlds tallest building until the Eiffel Tower was built in the 1880's. _________________ Thou dost appear beautiful on the horizon of heaven, oh living Amun, he who was the first to live. |

The great pyramid was beaten by some medievla church spires.
There are other pyramids in Egypt - I have climbed one (it looked like a heap of rubble) - i can't remember whos but it was well off the normal tourist trail.
An egyptologist told me she told a woman off for throwing something in the nile & it turned out to be her afterbirth! |
