Is there any chance we could have a forum or sub-forum for us to post recommended books on Ancient Egypt/Egyptians?

Somewhere we could discuss them and maybe write share a bit of info on them in case others may wish to buy copies

We'll have to wait for an admin to decide. I think it would be a useful addition. It might provide more topics for discussion too.

Yes, there'd be more topics for discussion and also it would enlighten us all, don't you think?

I have some books on Egypt that are as old as the hills Exclamation So much has been discovered since those books were written... it's simply astounding Exclamation

I eagerly await the fruition of your plans Meresankh Very Happy

Y'know, when I was in 6th grade I was all set to write a book on ancient Egypt. It was basically a research-oriented book. I had 25 chapters in all, covering all the subjects one would like to know about Egypt. I went to the printer's one evening, all buoyed with my idea; but had to return empty-handed.

The owner of the printing press asked me two basic questions: "Have you visited Egypt?" and "How many people do you think would buy the book... after all there won't be more than a handful interested in the subject you've chosen."
I was so heartbroken (and still am) Crying or Very sad

I know the feeling Akhnaton. Hey - if you still have the book, how about reading it through and editing it if needed, and then try your luck with publishing houses? I don't know where in the world you live but here in the UK we have to go via literary agents. It's a long slog and we have to accustom ourselves to rejections but JK Rowling was rejected by several before Bloomsbury picked her Harry Potter up.

Thanks for your kind words about my plight Meresankh Smile However, a visit to Egypt, however long it takes, is a must before embarking on writing a book I suppose.
