We had another good talk at our society last Saturday mostly on Harwa.
4 interesting points
1 Rock cut tombs seem to stop in 20th dynasty and start agin in the 25th but they are very good at it. It has been sujested that Pharoh had brought some workmen from Memphis to work in Nubia and Harwa grabbed them when they were on their way home - but there are no rock cut tombs of this preiod known in memphis.
2 These tombs are the largest known (apart from kv5)
3 Hatshepsuts temple was was later used as a cemetary - the archaelogists who dug it were only interested in H so they virtualy ignored the later stuff so we have lots of nice coffins with little info.
4 Digging Harwa they found an envelop addressed to Howard Carter, Deir el Bahri, near Luxor. It has a ripped logo saying Coo, Dahabeahs on tou |
