Okay, for my Amarna novel I need someone to marry off Kiya-Tasherit to. Right now it's Year 16 and she's 12. I don't want her to be married to anyone too much older than her. Anyone know any good young Amarna-period nobles/officials who might just fit the criteria? Or should I just invent some noble's son? _________________ *Tadukhipa*

Can she be the one who married King Niqmat of Ugarit? I always liked the "Amarna princess in Ugarit" theory.
I don't know about young officials but you can create a fictional son of an existing character. It has been done before several times Or she could fall in love with the son of a former Amun priest, which can cause troubles... Kiya-tasherit is a character to whom you can make anything happen, 'cause we don't know what happened to her in real life.
Where can your novel be read? Is it on the net or do you want to send it to a publisher? |

I've already sent Neferneferuaten-Tasherit to Ugarit. Right now the novel's on my computer, but maybe I could show it to you guys when I'm done it-- goodness knows what happens after that.
The former Amun priest thing is a good idea, things are already soap-opera-ish enough, but I could mix things up a bit more. I have an idea though. You know how there were other sculptors who worked in Thutmose's studio (possibly his sons), I was thinking that Tasherit could end up with one of them. I'm not sure. _________________ *Tadukhipa*

| Oh yes, I even wanted to mention the sculptors, but I didn't, c'ause they're not exactly noble... Anyway, it's a good idea. |

I've got it! I could always give Mutnodjmet a wild love affair with one of Amun's guys before she marries Horemheb.... Thanks for the idea! *and the plot thickens* lol _________________ *Tadukhipa*

| Not to be a party pooper but she was a princess so don't forget she couldn't marry beneath herself. The only options open to her would be her father, brothers etc. Even a foreign king would be considered beneath her as all foreigners were considered inferior. It was Amenhotep III who said that " Egyptian Princesses don't marry foreigners!" |

I agree with Kiya. She could have feelings for anyone she chooses to, but to actually act upon these desires if it was with someone who was not of blood and stature would result in dire consequences which would include him being killed (unless he was favoured by Pharaoh (or someone who was of a higher position that her father), but that would be doubtful) and her being severly repremanded for acting out of her position. If she had actually lost her innocence to this person (and I'm sure they would check this by force) then she may have been killed, depending of course on whether or not there would have been siblings available to continue the line.
Good luck with the novel.
