Cartouche Story

Handcrafted in Egypt, We authentically reproduce the symbolic emblems which has been discovered on the bas reliefs and inscriptions of ancient Egypt.

When ever the alphabetic name or symbolic title of an important Queen or pharaoh was written, The Hieroglyphic symbols were depicted within Ovals.

This Oval, or Cartouche, was represented as being formed of a rope, of which the two ends are knotted together.

The Oval was intended to protect the king's name from evil influences, for to injure the king's name was to injure the king himself.

The double knot was believed to be an amulet of great power.
