Hey guys,
I am interested in getting a course in Egyptology. The best option is Distant Learning.
I googled this topic and come out with some institutions that offer this kind of studies.
One of the institution is:
http://www.homestudynet.com/hdegy1_egyptology.htm
Please check it out and give me your opinion about it.
One more thing, do you know any other good Distant Learning "college"?
Thanks a lot. _________________ "I look up. Incredible! It is the eye of God. A perfectly black disk, ringed with bright spiky streamers that stretch out in all directions." --Eye of Horus |

| Sorry I can not help - I knew of a very good one but its mainstay Christine el-Mahdy is now seriously ill with cancer. It might start up again if she has a miraculous remission or someone else takes over but that is no good to you at present. |

Oh, sorry to hear that..
What about the link I provided, anyone experienced it?
If no, any other good Distant Learning courses?
Thanks. _________________ "I look up. Incredible! It is the eye of God. A perfectly black disk, ringed with bright spiky streamers that stretch out in all directions." --Eye of Horus |

I've just recently finished an Egyptology course with HomeStudy and was very happy with them (only trouble I had was with my tutor taking a very long time to reply to e-mails).
Definitely go for it! _________________ -Indeed, I am alive today; tomorrow is in god's hands-

Great! I think I will go for it!
Can you please elaborate:
What course did you take?
What about the course material? did you get a hard copy book, or a PDF file?
What about the assignments and exams?
Thanks a lot !! _________________ "I look up. Incredible! It is the eye of God. A perfectly black disk, ringed with bright spiky streamers that stretch out in all directions." --Eye of Horus |

Mine was a lower level course than yours, I believe (you can see it here : Introduction To Egyptology), but I can't even see yours listed on the page where mine is...they're the same place, though. Mine was six assignments in all (one on archaeology, one on foreign influences, one on death and burial, one on the Valley of the Kings, one on religion, and the last on the theories of Moustafa Gadalla). Each assignment was sent to me by post along with course notes in a ring-binder. _________________ -Indeed, I am alive today; tomorrow is in god's hands-
