| Satiah was the daughter of the royal nurse Ipu. Her name means "Daughter of the Moon". She was Thutmose's first documented Great Royal Wife (although he might have been previously married to Hatshepsut's short-lived daughter Neferure). Satiah is first mentioned in the 23th year, her cartouche shows signs of having been erased (maybe originally it contained Neferure's name?) They had no children. After Satiah's death the pharaoh's next Great Royal Wife was Hatshepsut-Merytre. |

Tausert (Setepenmut, Sitre-Meritamen - the Mighty Lady, Chosen of Mut, Daughter of Re, Beloved of Amun) was the last pharaoh of the 19th dynasty. As far as I know she was a daughter of Merenptah's, but I'm not sure. She was married to her brother Sethi II then to her stepson Siptah, then she ruled alone, with the help of Bay, a man of Syrian descent. She had a tomb in the Valley of Kings, but it was later occupied by Sethnakht, the first ruler of the 20th dynasty.

About Satamen, more often spelled as Sitamun: There were lots of women by this name ("Daughter of Amun" - I guess it was a very popular name). I think you're thinking of the most famous of them, who is believed to be the firstborn daughter of Amenhotep III and Tiye, but there is another theory which states that she was in fact a much younger sister of Amenhotep. She had the title of "Royal Heiress" which seems to support the latter theory.) She was married to Amenhotep III and was much respected during his reign. It is also possible that Smenkhkare and maybe Tutankhamen were her sons. |

Senetnay was the wife of Sennefer, a vizier during the reign of Amunhotep II. They have a beautiful tomb in the Valley of Nobles. (There is some confusion about it, for Senetnay's name isn't mentioned in the tomb, and Sennefer's wife is called Meryt there, but maybe the two women are the same and Meryt, 'Beloved' could have been Senetnay's pet name.) They had two daughters: Mutnefert and Mut-Tuya.
About Tawy I don't know much; her name is probably a short form for Nebettawy (Lady of the Two Lands) or Henuttawy (Mistress of the Two Lands).
I know it's hard to pick up a name for yourself, I've been thinking for weeks before I chose mine! There are so many beautiful names in Acient Egyptian language. By choosing a name you can also show who is your favorite pharaoh, which is your favorite period in Egyptian history, that's why I have an Amarna name.
Also look around at http://www20.brinkster.com/neferuaten/names/fnames.htm where I've collected a bunch of Egyptian names with their meanings, biography of those who had this name & the hieroglyphic form of the name. I hope it helps. |
