This was a Theban Dynasty which continued the culture of the Middle Kingdom. It coexisted with the 15th Dynasty until Seqenenre Tao began to fight against the Hyksos. Kamose, the son of Seqenenre Tao, eventually drove out the Hyksos which marks the end of the 17th Dynasty. Kamose's younger brother, Ahmose I, becomes King of Upper and Lower Egypt and begins the 18th Dynasty, the New Kingdom.

I posted this somewhere before. NO. Dr. Hawass found 3 mummies Achenaten, Kiya, and Tiye, and I.D. them through an investigation using ct scans. Nefertiti still remains hidden somewhere. I don't think Dr. Hawass would say that a mummy is so and so, unless he really knew who it was with hard evidence.

They did CT scans on the mummies in KV35. and the bones in KV55. Dr. Hawas brought in 5 forensic Doctors experts in their field to examine them. He let's them draw their opinions as to the mummies. He also brought in a team of DNA experts to see if these mummies were related to King Tut. The took samples of marrow inside the bones of Tut. They also took DNA samples from the bones of the remains of KV55 and KV35. They not only did a regular DNA test, they took mitochondrial DNA samples. They gave him their conclusion. Dr. Hawas does not draw a conclusion about anything until they have been viewed by experts in their fields. That’s what I like about him. I know he can be an SOB sometimes, but he gets the job done. The result is this-the bones in KV55 was Tut’s father. The mummies in KV35 were all related to Tut. The younger mummy was definitely female, and because they found hematomas from the strike to her jaw, and the stab wound to her side means, for those that are not a biologist, killed while alive. It does not mean that the mummy was hit to destroy her remains. Now we come to the conclusion. Since the bones in KV55 was Tut’s father, it could only be who? And the older woman in KV35 could only be who? And the most likely person to be the younger woman was who? I’ll let you draw your on conclusion.

The bones in KV55 were a match with Tuts'. It is Akheneten. The older woman is Queen Tiye, the grandmother of Tut. The younger woman is Tut's mother, who was killed while alive. That best choice is Kiya. Why was she killed? Who knows. She died right after Tut was born. Word went out that she died while giving birth to Tut. I don't believe that. This next part is my speculation. There is only one person who could benefit from her death-Nefertiti. Her death ment that Nefertii could raise Tut as her own son as his stepmother. Am I right, I don't know, but it seems to fit what was found. If and when Nefertiti's mummy or bones are found will give us some answers. Nefertiti was not part of this family. That would mean she is no relation to King Tut. If the younger woman is Nefertiti, then she would be his mother. Why would she be killed, because both her and Akheneten were rebels. Got rid of the old Gods and created Aten. This would get plenty of Ebyptians angry enough to kill her. You can speculate yourself as to want happened. I'm no expert.
