Sneferu was the first pharaoh of the 4th dynasty. He had the Bent pyramid and the Red pyramid constructed at Dahshur, and was buried in the Red pyramid. The name Sneferu means 'to make beautiful'. Sneferu's son, Khufu, was also his successor, who becomes pharaoh after his father, and built the Great pyramid.
