Now if you believe the bible is true then I have a question.
Who was the wife of Solomon? it says in 1 Kings 3:1 it says Solomon made a alliance with pharaoh of Egypt, and he took one of his daughters for his wife. Is there any idea as to who this pharaoh could've been? or who his daughter might have been?
I know it couldn't have been a pharaoh before Ramses II, as far I know of pharaoh's didn't give away there daughters.

Also, what of the queen of Sheba some say she was Hatshepsut? Shocked

An Egyptian princess was never given in marriage to any foreign king. There was too much pressure against it, believing that such an action would give the foreign king a claim to the throne of Pharaoh.

The exact dating of the reign of Solomon is up for debate but I have seen him placed sometime between 1037-930. This would put him as comtemporaries with the 21st Dynasty Pharaohs of Egypt in the Third Intermediate Period.

In the 21st dynasty, the rule of the Two Lands was once again split and a time of instability. We find a line of Pharaohs ruling in the North and another line sometimes concurrently ruling in the South. The line from the was made up of Pharaohs of Libyan decent, foreigners to Egypt. Although the Libyans had been in Egypt and established a power base in Egypt since the time of Ramses XI in the late 2Oth Dynasty and most presumably adopted the Egyptian culture as their own, it may be possible that the a Pharaoh of Libyan decent did not consider the offering of his daughter to a foreign king as a Pharaoh of true Egyptian decent may have.

So it may not be out of the question to consider that a Pharaoh of Libyan descent may have offered his daughter to gain foreign alliance with Solomon in an era of instability and split rule in Egypt. This is of course speculation but if we choose to pursue this possibilty further perhaps we should look at identifying the daughters of PsusennesI through PsuennesIII as possible offerings.
