Hello, everyone! After all these years of having my avatar, I finally found the original piece of work it came from.
Here it is, your moderator on canvas!
I look SO good! I'm guessing this is where my avatar came from.
Here's a better image. I think I'll change me avatar to this one.

That is so cool, it's the picture that's on the cover of the novel "The Twelve Transforming". I read it just a while ago. But it doesn't show the whole painting, you are cut out, so I didn't know it was from that. Pretty cool. |

Hahah no one knows how happy this makes me. I've had that picture for so long and wanted to know what the whole things looked like. Thanks to Neb-Ma'at-Re for telling me he saw the painting on a program about Cleopatra. Had he not said anything, I still wouldn't know .
Thank you very much, Neb! _________________

I was just about to say that. ...such a tacky book... Though I guess these books probably aren't written for Egypt geeks anyways. _________________ *Tadukhipa*

Don't you agree that I look the prettiest?
*snickers* just kidding!
I am happy to have found that picture. I'll be more sane from now on. _________________

Oh, of course! Nobody is prettier than you!
I love the other paintings, too, but when did they start to play chess? I only know senet as a table-game... when did they discover chess?
I expecially like the picture of Joseph! I wish I was as talented as that painter... very professional! _________________ http://belldandy.freeblog.hu --> my blog site |

You seem to be the only one who isn't staring at the woman in the sedan chair, trying to please her with fans and gifts. Rather you seem preoccupied, glaring at something we can't see. . . . just off to the right of the canvas.
What could it be? Any suggestions? _________________

It looks to me like he's wistfully looking at the large amphora.
Daydreaming about a nice flask of honeyed wine?
Or a nice woman outside the canvas?
Or both: wine and women? |

They didn't. I'm pretty sure that chess was invented by the Chinese (though popular belief is that it was invented in India). I think people just saw the images of senet players, recognized it as chess and then the Egyptian chess player myth took off from there. _________________ *Tadukhipa*

I just thought maybe Sir Lawrence didn't know diddly squat about Egypt and thought Senet was Chess or didn't really know how to paint a Senet game.
And Chess was originated in India. _________________

That is a verrry nice, and beautiful, painting....
....I'm mostly saying this because of the hot Egyptian men that SHOULD be surrounding ME.... Meh-heh heh...I said too much.
..And, yes, Ramsekh, you are the hottest in that painting. I can see exactly why you made it into an avatar....how yummy.
And about the "chess" thing....I didn't know it was started in India. That's cool...I'd like to play Senet though...never played it before... Though, you couldn't play it nowadays...or can you? That would be both amusing AND fun!! _________________
