Basically, it has turned people into assholes. Before Tutankhaten's tomb was opened, Egyptology was still pretty low-key (Loki, haha). But now, whenever some shit-head wants to give a presentation on Egypt, no matter what time period, a photo of Tutankhaten's funerary mask is a must, apparently.
What has it done? It has lableled Egyptology as a field of searching for *clears throat to sound like an old gold prospector* GOLD! Hee heh heh!
Tutankhaten was a mistake, and should be forgotten. _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

| Just wondering... when you said Tutankhaten was a mistake, do you mean that him being revealed to the current world, or him becoming pharoah a mistake. |

I'll have to agree with Unas all the way on this one. Tutankhaten is overrated. _________________

He should never have been pharaoh, and he should have never been discovered.
Tutankhaten was a sickly young man with a bad back. Would you want that as a leader? He was actually such a horrible leader who did nothing more than "maybe" revert the religion back to the Kemetic ways, which might have been a possible motive for a royal entorage to murder him. This still makes no real sense, because almost everyone was opposed to the monotheist religeon. But, that doesn't really matter in this conversation.
He was put in too young to know what he was doing, and all of his life, he was surrounded by people telling him what to do. That's all he knew. How could he oppose what his life was? Tutankhaten = puppet.
He should also have never been discovered, like I said. Without the discovery of his tomb, it is true, there wouldn't be as big of a hype on Egyptology as there is, but it would have turned away all of the bad influences like the British. I meant that as a joke, actually.. Please Si-Amun and Psus - forgive me! But, I believe that if Tutankhaten hadn't been discovered, no one would have cared about Egypt needing a dam. As a result, the British wouldn't have built it, and we wouldn't have this desctruction of several monuments. _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

Well, this is gonna be a fun-fer-all, yaaay!!!
Well, let's see here...ok, most of you know--or should know by now--that Tut had an older brother, Smenkhare. Now, what I thought was that Smenkhie was gonna be pharaoh instead of Tut, since of course he was the older son. When he "died" (I dunno when, if you guys know what happened exactly then refeash my memory), Tut had to take over when Akhenaten croaked as well. Now, see, Tut wasn't really meant to be pharaoh in the first place, however, fate has a twist sometimes.
I say the media is over-exaggerting Tut too much, as Unas has said before, I beleive. We've all heard about him for the past 80 years or so, and it's getting old (Doesn't mean I'm gonna stop working on my TuT! comic for this. I always have and always will love Tut, personaly, no matter how much it bugs me. ).
People should realize there are other Pharaohs out there to study besides Tut...and see, why study such a famous pharaoh with little-known history? Nobody really knows his childhood, his politics, his feelings. Yes, Unas, Tut was a human being, too, let's not forget that, lol.
If we didn't discover Tut...or if Tut was never king...wouldn't history--and dare I say, life on the whole--would be different? I don't mean today's times persay, but...it would be different. What do you guys think?
You all knew I just HAD to say something...The Tutness can't resist! _________________

The following is taken from the report on the CT scan of Tutankhamen's mummy:
the scientific team confirmed that King Tut died at about the age of 19. His bones, which indicate a slight build, show that he was well-fed and healthy and suffered no major childhood malnutrition or infectious diseases.
Contrary to accepted thought, Carter did not "stumble" on Tut's burial. According to his own diaries, one of his primary goals was to discover the burial place of Tutankhamen. He hoped, naturally, that he would find an entact tomb, but realistically he was quite sure it would be found empty. When the tomb was found, he first assumed that he had found a cache, and not a burial. It was only when the tomb was opened and he started his examination was it realized that it was a tomb.
You should read his diaries. They are quite fascinating. A copy from his diaries, telling about the finding and excavation of the tomb, can be seen here:

You have proven me wrong on the sickly part, Osiris! Forgive me Tutankphomaniacs!
As per the "stumbled on" part, I'm sorry.. but I was being rather 'loose' with the phrasing. _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

I also am getting annoyed with the constant stuff about Tut...after all, this little idiot who saw this site IMed me asking who King Tut was and after I got sick of her asking me, she told all her little friends to ask me, too. I've been blocking people for months now. -_- But anyway...I'd rather see reports on other pharaohs, but most teachers like Unas said can't get past the Tut craze. It doesn't mean I don't like learning about him, but enough is enough! _________________

Lol, no need to apologize. It's just that we've seen so many people do reports and projects on Tut...we're all Tutted out. _________________
