Hallo
I'd like to know if anyone of you all can help me: is there a website where I can find all the findings or a catalogue of all the findings referred to XVIII dinasty (and particularly to Akhenaten)?!?

You mean by findings, discoveries of tombs etc.?
I once put together a list of the tombs from Amarna:
Amarna Tombs
I collected the materials from books like Murnane's text.
I also compiled a list of New Kingdom tombs at Saqqara:
Saqqara Tombs
You would really want to look at the first half of the page.
I also put together a list of the Theban tombs with links to internet sites:
Theban Tombs
They are in numerical order, but you can do a search on the name of the rulers.

Wow! Yours is a great work! And Thank you!
...But...I referred to a specific book that maybe, you know if it has been published...
It's the collection of all the photos made by W. Raymon Johnson during 1996-7 (when he vwere in Egypt for the Epigraphic Survey of the University of Chicago)... and that he made with the images he took of published and not published findings about king Amenhotep III and Akhenaten. I found the "news" about at page http://oi.uchicago.edu/OI/PROJ/EPI/NN_FAL96/NN_Fal96.html
I think it would be interesting "seeing" all the findings about these two kings: it should be very important for our "theories"  ...but especially for our culture.

No I don't know of any book like that, but I will look around for it.
You're absolutely right. That would be a great book to have.
Thanks for the wonderful link by the way I'm going to have to go back and read that when I have a little bit more time. |

It's not the one I referred to...because of the year of publication: 1994 but I thikn it should have been published during 1998 or 1997...or 1999...or not already been published 
But I think also that this book you talk about could be very interesting...

There's also a Part II. Equally expensive
They are the only two works of the epigraphic survey that seem to come close to what you were asking.
Do you have Murnane's book "Texts from Amarna Period"?
Paperback: 310 pages
Publisher: Scholars Press (1995)
Language: English
ISBN: 1555409660
It has many texts from the Amarna Period and describes for instance the tombs from the Amarna period. It's one of my favorite books and really covers quite a bit of material from that time period.
And it's affordable. Should run between 20 and 25 euros I think. |
