I don't know if some of you had the chance to follow the strong arguing that took place between Cairo and Paris about Mr Mathieu during last winter, but I think that we should spend few minutes to try to understand what happened and what is going on at the moment.
I just post the link, the article is in french, meanwhile I'll prepare a quick translation for those of you who cannot understand french....

pls, read it carefully. I rely on your maturity not to make any kind of speculation on this matter. |

| That's incredible! I didn't think that "power games" could also be present in structures dealing with archaeology.... However, I hope that a solution could soon be found, and that the new chief of the IFAO could soon begin his/her work. |

| yeah, Chube! that's the way it is. Have you notice I took the same article from our italian site where noone said nothing about that? I am so surprised! Some are taking the "courage" to do whatever they want and pass over every kind of respect, ethically and politically uncorrect, using the power of their positions and noone is saying anything....I believe the most scary thing is that this behaviour is taking place also in many other fields, not only egyptology. It seems that the motto now is "who cares about rules and respect??"..... |
