Actually, I can think of something for Dr. Hawass to do that would be very funny, lock himself inside a tomb and not come out. That would make me roar with laughter.

Ha-ha-ha.... Razz

Yes, it would be really funny.
But it has not too much chances...(unfortunetly)
In turn it would be a good day for Egypt and for everybody.

I am very wondering that why do you like him and why is he funny? Question I don't think so. I don't think he is funny, rather what he is doing is absolutely that. What he is doing for popularity... Because my opinion is that it matters nothing in egyptology if an egyptologist is known by TV. Only that matters what somebody is doing FOR Egypt and not for popularity.

Yes, he's doing a lot for his own popularity (that's funny, his TV appearances), but even without being constantly on TV, he would be in the centre of attention as a person who's in a powerful place. However, I still think that he's genuively interested in Ancient Egypt, that he loves it greatly (like most people there do) and cares for it. He's just doing his work.

Another supporter of Dr. Hawass here: whatever his eccentricites, he is a powerful force for progress and has helped his country make huge strides in the field of Egyptology...though he be somewhat of a handful...

...and I'll be you're quite the handful, too, Ramsekh! Laughing Wink

Yes, it's true that he has been doing so much for the Egyptian archeology but every egyptologist has. So it isn't a strange thing from him. It's rather certain.
And that has borders, to save and help egyptology. For exemple if in the past -of course- some people took a relief or statue away from Egypt ( whitout anyone asking) then I agree that he can charge back these things. But if it was a gift (the obelisk in the Concorde Square) I think he can't. Confused

I can finish off the title of this whole topic really easily.

Zahi Hawass..... Should be shot.

thankyou si amun. Am sick of people kissing Zawi Hawas' arse.

Try reading 'the Stargate Conspiracy' by Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince. Makes some interesting claims about him.

Very nice man, knows what he's talking about, but really needs to come down of his high camel for crying out loud! My dad met him a couple times, and said he's nice and all, but trying to get two words in, was like pulling teeth! It just wasn't going to happen!

Well he is a man of many sides and i dont like all of them Wink
But i think that his quest for bringing the acient Egyptian treasures
home to Egypt is one i strongly supports.

Because when Europe is helding historik Egyptian treasures that belong
to the Egytians and there history, we are doing somethings that is very wrong....

This is like the first bibel or maybe Noa´s Ark would be hold in a Museum
in Bagdad or maybe Cairo, so even if you dont like all of his work
i mean that this is a quest that you should support 100%

Please go to http://www.seagen.se and read more...

Claude II,
you have also to think about the fact that all those people who know nothing about AE, they will get in touch with this culture (that is so vaste and wonderful!!) thanx to the museums that are all over the world. This can create more interest and give people the opportunity to study it. More, this is how everybody gets involved and decide to visit the Country, which is actually living of turism..... Wink

I could understand leaving it there if it were given to them. However, it was stolen and should be taken back to it's rightful place, which is not the Berlin Museum.

This is a bad argument for not releasing the Queen and to say that
Dr. Hawass and Cairo Museum cant take care of there property....

We are learning in school all abut religon and ancient Egypt to day
so we dont have to stumble in to a Museum for that Wink

How many Egyptians can afford the tripp to Berlin?

Why any country can say that they have the right to hold historik
relifes for another country and then tell them that we are better keeper
is something we would never except her in Europe.

But i respekt that you have different opinon then me but i am sorry that
you think Berlin has more right to Nefertiti then her own people
And here she belongs next to her King Akhnaton

I did not say that Berlin Museum has more rights on the head of Nefertiti...I was talking in general...
Museums are more useful than what you can know imagine. You were asking how can an egyptian afford a trip to Berlin...I ask you, how do you think students of Egyptology from all over the world can afford trips to Cairo???..
The head of Nefertiti is another thing: it has been stolen and it is completely another thing. I can tell you that about this problem I have your same opinions and also believe that egyptians are now more than capable to restore and take care of all the pieces they have. I believe that when they say that Nefertiti has to stay in Berlin because in Egypt archoaelogists are not able to take care of it, these are bull****s and everybody perfectly knows that it's just a matter of money and number of visitors that the museum have thanx to queen Nefertiti.
...not all the musems had bad behaviour like that one! Wink

Now we are talking the same language Wink
And that is why we are protesting to the Museum of Berlin....
This is stolen property and should be returned to Egypt..

And to be honest its more likely that a student could afford a tripp to Egypt
but this is not the point Wink

The treasures of Egypt don't just belong to Egypt, they belong to the entire world and Hawass should not be allowed to hoard them.
I wouldn't have half the enthuasiam for AE if I hadn't had a chance to experience them first hand in the Brit Museum.
