The Turin Papyrus has pornography on it. With all these strange poses and everything. Quite strange. _________________

I know Turin papyrus quite well....not only, tomorrow we're gonna have a meeting of egyptophilies right in the museum....if you wish to know something in particular I'll be glad to ask for you and report all complete answers!!
I generally go there once a month.....and lots of things are changing there now 'cos the old Lady-Queen that was f....governing the museum few months ago finally left managing the museum (WOW!!!). A new Foundation has been started up now, with new managers and very good archaeologysts and restaurators to make it rebirth!!! The project to enlarge it will take something like three years, but they are planning it in order not close any part of the museum (they also have to make money to go on with works). They want to restore the biggest part possible of all the things inside the storage and take them to life again! The objects now exposed in the museum are not even the 10% of what we actually have here.
Feel free to ask, I'll be very glad to provide infos for you all!!
Ciao ciao

'The Turin erotic papyrus' as it is also known, is a comedy about a young man and his first visit to a brothel. There isn't really any surviving 'porn' as such from Ancient Egypt.

I hope this doesn't count as an obscene link, but if you like you can view a reconstruction of the Papyrus HERE. (this is because most of it is frayed and tattered). Most of the male characters seem to be old men, and there are animals involved too. It is all very very strange. . . .
By the way- I have an all day lecture tommorow on Egypt- so if you want any questions answered by a crack team of Egyptologists then ask now. I hope to post a transcript of the lecture, as always, at KTO. _________________

nefertari....thanx to you for your appreciation!!
I like to share what I get... .....
...I can tell you that I really like their way of thinking about life in general, at least for what we know....it looks like if they had not all the limits and blocks that we do have....

Psusennes I~ Thanks for sharing that.. I have, of course, heard of the Turin papyrus but can't remembewr actually seeing any of it. You have to wonder though, with how out of wack and well... you get the idea... every thing is perhaps it was an ancient form of something like the Far Side??? _________________ ~Mary

Psusennes, you make it sound bad when you say "and there are animals involved too." The animals are't involved in the action, they're just a bunch of animals playing with musical instruments. _________________
