| How did the Egytpians erase hieroglyphics? Weren't they carved in? If they weren't, they how did they get the paint off? |

It was very simple! They would carve over the old hieroglyphics and replace them with the new ones! This was proven on king tut’s sarcophagus. Hope this helps! Now about the paint question.
