| well... as far as I know they were having a vacation on a planet near Epsilon Eridani and accidentally closed the dimension door so they can't come back... but if you have a message for them I'll tell my extraterrestrial friend Xtmprszntwlfd to deliver it to them. |

The answer is because Queen Cleopatra the 7th lost the war to Rome soon to be ruled by Augustus Caesar. He had no desire to be "Pharaoh" and actually had no claim to the title. Augustus Caesar made Egypt the private property of Caesar and it was from his time on considered the property of whatever Caesar was ruling in Rome at that time. Not long after Augustus made Egypt his own little playground Christianity came to be. Egypt's capital at this time was Alexandria, named after it's founder Alexander the Great, who was Pharaoh. Another story- back to Alexandria in the first century AD. It welcomed Christianity and until Rome itself came to accept Christianity, Alexandria was one of the strongest illegal Christian strongholds in the Imperial Roman Empire ( i believed it was the 3rd city in the Early Christian Church after Antioch, and Ephesus) When the Imperial Roman Empire died, Egypt and it's capital city Alexandria were mostly Christian and went into the new Christian Kingdom of the East, better known as the Byzantium Empire. Christianity ruled Egypt until the Arabs over came it and it became Islamic.
So why did the Pharaoh's disappear they lost the war against Rome, Rome lost to Christianity, and Christians lost Egypt to Islam. There was no room in any of these for a Divine God Ruler of Egypt. |
