Well, there are people that worship the traditional ancient Egyptian gods, so I presume that the Aten could be still worshipped, too. _________________ -Indeed, I am alive today; tomorrow is in god's hands-

Yes, I am Atenist, and there are a lot of people all over the world who are Atenists.
To me it is the most beautiful religion because it is free from corruption, teaches the truth, and encourages positivity as well as inner strength - as opposed to most other religions who control their followers through fear. |

| Does anyone think that Moses was influenced by the idea of one god, like Aten, and the possiblity that there really is only one God? |

Moses was most likely Atenist himself, but most definitely was he influenced by Atenism! Atenism never died out as such, even before the modern revival of it; it lived on as the follow on religions, Judaism, and, later, Christianity and Islam.
Unfortunately these religions control their followers through fear, which means much of the beauty of Atenism has been lost. But Jewish culture still contains a lot of elements that clearly originate in Egypt - something that the Jewish people themselves are unlikely to admit, as they see Egypt as the enemy since the exodus. I wonder though if it's more to do with being afraid of the truth... |

| I thought that Ankhesenpaaten was the other name for Ankhesenamun. I guess I was wrong. How do I give myself an ancient Egyptian name instead of my long in name? |

You are indeed right - Ankhesenpaaten was the original name of Tutankhamun's wife, and Tutankhamun's original name was Tutankhaten. However, when the counter revolution happened, and Atenism was banned, they both had to change their names to Ankhesenamun and Tutankhamun.
A point of interest is that, whilst Atenism was officially banned, in private they both continued to be devoted Atenists. |

| Thanks for the answer. I thought it was. I had books about Ancient Egypt and the discovery of Tut's tomb and that name got stuck in my head. |

I thought Atenism taught you could only reach god via the Pharaoh.
I belive the grave of a priest of the Aten who lived well after the Amarna period (Ramesses II?) has been found but can not remember details. |
