Hi there, my name is Steve. My great uncle was Alfred Peter Paxton. Apparently he was the scribe on Howard Carter's exbidition into king Tut's tomb. I am looking for any way to find a list of people on this exbidition to varify this. Apparently we have two pieces from the tomb - but don't know which ones they are ! "Uncle Alf" was quite a collector - there are many pieces from his collection and I am reluctant to get someone around to go through it all. Does anyone know where I could find photos of everything that was taken out of the tomb ? If I can find an image of something I have possesion of - would be quite nice. Apparently if I can verify the pieces - I should return them and they can never be legally sold. The older I get - the more I lean towards giving them back - but I obviously need to varify first.
If anyone can be of any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.
All the best from Steve in Australia. |

Hi, MelbourneSteve,
Please feel free to post any pictures you have. I would gladly go through them and look up the items from the resources available to me.
I am happy to recieve private emails.
You will understand that many people are sceptical of such claims (of owning genuine artifacts from an Ancient Civilisation), but in some cases the claims are genuine.
I see this is your only post, so hopefully you are still an active member,
Thanks,

Thanks Stuart, If I had any idea how to start to reduce the collection to just Egyptian pieces, the process would be much easier. I am really after some sort of photographic inventory of what was taken out. I am quite sure I will identify something if it is on film and take it from there.
Thank you for your offer of help |
