Is there any chance we could have a forum or sub-forum for us to post recommended books on Ancient Egypt/Egyptians?
Somewhere we could discuss them and maybe write share a bit of info on them in case others may wish to buy copies _________________

We'll have to wait for an admin to decide. I think it would be a useful addition. It might provide more topics for discussion too. _________________

Yes, there'd be more topics for discussion and also it would enlighten us all, don't you think?
I have some books on Egypt that are as old as the hills So much has been discovered since those books were written... it's simply astounding
I eagerly await the fruition of your plans Meresankh
Y'know, when I was in 6th grade I was all set to write a book on ancient Egypt. It was basically a research-oriented book. I had 25 chapters in all, covering all the subjects one would like to know about Egypt. I went to the printer's one evening, all buoyed with my idea; but had to return empty-handed.
The owner of the printing press asked me two basic questions: "Have you visited Egypt?" and "How many people do you think would buy the book... after all there won't be more than a handful interested in the subject you've chosen."
I was so heartbroken (and still am) _________________ Amarna |

I know the feeling Akhnaton. Hey - if you still have the book, how about reading it through and editing it if needed, and then try your luck with publishing houses? I don't know where in the world you live but here in the UK we have to go via literary agents. It's a long slog and we have to accustom ourselves to rejections but JK Rowling was rejected by several before Bloomsbury picked her Harry Potter up. _________________

Thanks for your kind words about my plight Meresankh However, a visit to Egypt, however long it takes, is a must before embarking on writing a book I suppose. _________________ Amarna |
