Hello,
Having only just discovered this forum and registered I have not had the time to read the posts. However there is one observation I have made from reading various books about Ancient Egypt and the official interpretation of Egyptologists. It seems that most of their interpretations have been made in a way which will fit in with the writings of the Bible of Christianity and Judaism as well as the Koran. This does not really seem to fit the facts. Perhaps if it had been possible for me to see on the ground the actual sites upon which these Egyptologists based their conclusions I would take a different view point.
That said I look forward to learning what others interested in Ancient Egypt write concerning the history and culture of that which seems to be the very roots of our civilization _________________ Shaun |

Go the "Introduce Yourself" board to let people know you are joining the AE group.
I don't know what you are reading that gives you the impression that study of ancient Egypt is mostly based on the Bible. In fact, Bible-subject have very little, if anything, to do with the study of this culture. Get some good books by well-known Egyptologists--you will see the subject is mentioned only in passing.
After all, most subjects covered by the Bible and related to ancient history generally are considered to be mainly fictional accounts, made by those whose purpose was to aggrandize the role of Israel as a nation. |
