Hi folks,
I'm trying to find pictures of the pyramids depicted the way they would have been when they were new, with the limestone vaneer in place. Does anyone know where I might be able to find something like this. We've scoured the internet and found absolutely nothing and also tried a number of shops and had no luck at all. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Cheers

Hey,
I don't know where you can find any pictures online but I do have a suggestion (and it's just that).
You could purchase a game calles "Pharaoh" for your computer. There is a very good scene with a very large pyramid in the background and it gleams white with the limestone. Although it may cost a bit, I bought my copy about two years ago. So there, you could try that. Or, you could just use this screenshot from wikimedia. It's Snoferu's bent pyramid.

Hi guys,
Myself NYK from Canada and I'm trying to find pictures of the pyramids depicted the way they would have been when they were new, with the limestone veneer in place. Pyramids always look beautiful. Now a days it is mostly used for suiting in movies. Thanks

I can not see any granite casing on either of those sites.
With all this computer reconstuction you now see on TV programs it would be nice to see Ancient Egypt as it was when new. |

I couldn't agree more. That would be magnificent indeed. Or even better, if we could take a step back in time and actually BE there when all those pyramids and later tombs and monuments were still newly built. *sighs* _________________
