An asteroid called Apophis will get dangerously close to the earth in 2036.
Wonder if they knew this when they named it? |

I heard the notice of this asteroid; I don't know when they named it... I don'tthink to be wrong by saying that the University of Pisa told that probably the direction of the asteroid could be changed; probably Apophis could fall in the ocean without improving catastrophes on the Earth...
Here it is an image of Apophis:

an ocean impact is worse, not only tidal wavesbut billions of gallons of water is evaporated. a 300km asteroid would still spread ejecta over a thousand miles. Chixalub, the dinosaur killer was an ocean impact.Long term, the worst case would be an impact in northern russia, with hot rock starting fires over a thousand nile radius, which would burn uncontrollably & create the worst impact winter.
In 536 ACE a volcanic explosion caused a year without summer, at noon the sky was so dark that hat it was hard to read. these events are chronicled in rome, constanbtinople, china, japan & Java..
an even bigger eruption in the aleutians in 3119 BCE, caused 5 years of dimmed sunlight, no summers & excessive snow fall. finally in 3114BCE what was about 20 years worth of snaow melted in one spring causing massive flooding, espescialy in mesopotamia. _________________ If you listen very carefully, you can hear the gods are laughing. |
