I heard on the news that Ramses the II's locks of hair
were found after missing for thirty years.
They are now on display at the Egyptian Museum.
The story on ABC news it was interesting.
I thought I made a big deal about my hair.
I guess I was wrong. _________________ egyptianscribe

| The mummy was sent to France for conservation work. While it was there, apparently one of the people working on the mummy clipped and kept some of his hair. When he died, his son tried to sell the lock of hair on eBay. Hawass heard about it, and demanded that the seller be prosecuted and the lock of hair returned to Egypt. It was done: the man was fined, I believe, and the hair was returned to the Cairo Museum. There is a thread concerning this on kingtutone. |
