I have a question! I was reading some books and I am confused. I hear about Isis being the mother of Horus, then I hear Hathor being the mother of Horus…what’s going on? Also, who holds the title for a motherly fiqure!? Isis or Hathor? Can someone give me some ideas?
Thanks,

It can be quite confusing at times. This site may help a bit:

I think part of your confusion stems from poor wording on things you are reading.
Isis was the wife of Osiris, and the mother of Horus.
Hathor could be referred to as the mother of Pharaoh, who was considered to be the living Horus. |

Text can sometimes can be sketchy and confusing
I've read several mythology books and overall gained
Isis is the mother goddess or great enchantress
who is the wife to Osiris and mother of Horus
She is sometime depicted with horns which can cause
some confusion.
Hathor- was Horus's nurse
she is often depicted nursing Horus and called motherly
but was not his actually mother. _________________ egyptianscribe
