I've just started to write a blog, The Egyptian Scribe http://egyptianscribe.blogspot.com/
It's about learning hieroglyphs - maybe some of you would find it useful!
P.S.
Comments are welcome.
Best,
Ana |

Great site--very professional looking.
I'm sure others here will find it very helpful also. Things are kind of slow here right now, but don't dispair! Keep checking in, it's bound to pick up here. |

Hi Ana, I love the site - I've actually seen it before though. Do you read hieroglyphs yourself? I'd love to learn how to read them.

Hi, I'm glad you like it.
Do I read hieroglyphs myself? Well, I can read most of them as I'm familiar with their transliteration. But, with a good dictionary, I think I could understand them too
I'm planning to show you what I learned in my blog, so keep visiting

Hi taunbv,
I like your blog and wish you the best in your studies. I have been studying hieroglyphs for about eight or nine years now and seem to get more addicted to this ancient language the more I learn.
You can find a full copy of gardiner's sign list at http://www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/Gardiner-sign-list.html which lists the orthodox phonetic transliterations for each sign in a more accessible format and further information on the offering formula at http://www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/offeringformula.html.
I am presently in the process of compliling a dictionary which as you can imagine is a huge labour of love. I also plan on adding further tutorials on egyptian grammar. You may also be interested in the quizes on http://www.ancientegyptonline.co.uk/hieroglyphs.html on single consonant signs and the names of egyptian gods.
Please do not hesitiate to contact me if you want to discuss this fascinating language further as I am always keen to speak to other enthusiasts. _________________ iw m hotep
