Hello all!

As we all know, the pyramid of Unas was the first to have funerary texts on its walls.

BUT ... was it the first funerary place? There were mastabas, underground tombs, etc. I've been wondering, but does anyone know?

Well, real Egyptologists are hard to come by, and those few I have been lucky enough to find are .. more than a little preoccupied with things like work.

Besides, I could peg the combined knowledge here against a few groups of Egyptologists! We're young and have time for the passion!

I'm married to an egyptologist/archeologist, but she avoids forums such as this one because of people who have books by grahame hancock & robert bauval et al, and the egyptians were black crowd. Her occasional rants about hancock can be quite funny.

her other pet peeve is the university establishment automatcly pooh poohing anything where the archeological evidence disagrees with the established order.
