Whenever I go to versus threads about myths,it's always Asgardvs. Olympus. Who's stronger,Thor or Hercules? Is Zeus more powerful than Odin?
Why not a change?!
Here's the list...
Nun vs. Surt
Seth vs. Heimdall(nod to the ol' Loki/Heimdall rivalry)
Isis vs. Frigg
Hathor vs.Freya
Baba vs. Loki
Thoth vs. Baldur
Ra vs. Odin
Nethys vs. Hela
Apep vs. Jormungard
Anubis vs. Garm
Montu vs. Tyr
Sekhmet vs. Frenier
Hapy vs. Ran
Osiris vs. Frey
Horus vs.Thor
Valkyries vs. Funery goddesses
I say Asgard wins 10/16.
If you need information about certain deities just ask!
So bring it on,prove me wrong, just don't get violent! |

Come on,why is no one replying?
Is there too many at once?
I could break it down to 3 at a time. And go alittle more in-deph. |

Hi! Sorry but I can't answer you yet. You know a lot of people here are interested in Egypt, but I'm not sure that everyone knows something about the Norman mythology. As we can realize, you're interested in this, too, but a lot of us - like me - don't know much about it, or never heard these names... So, sorry... _________________ http://belldandy.freeblog.hu --> my blog site |

I always thought that the Norse and Greek pantheons were the best well known. The Greek has always been prominent, while the Norse is mainly due to Wagner's Ring operas and Thor's comicbook has been pubished for the past forty years.
Anyway Nun vs. Surt.
It's the battle of the elements. The primodial waters against the fire giant that will destroy the nine worlds.
Seth vs. Heimdall
There both interesting. Heimdall is the Guardian of the Gates of Asgard. He has a trumpet, and has very good vision and hearing. He can hear a butterfly flap it's wings...in another dimension! |

The Norse gods were mortal. I'm sorry... I believe them to be the cooler group, but they couldn't stand a chance against the Greek gods. _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

They all remained immortal by eating ridiculous apples. They Egyptian Gods would easily defeat them. . . or would they? It doesn't really make sense to pit any gods against one another, which is why polythiesm is slightly odd anyway. You can't have opposed omnipotent Gods- that defies logic. _________________

Egyptian, Zulu, whatever... Immortal vs. Mortal... Psus, are you speaking of the golden apples in the myth of Jason and the Argonauts? Or are you talking about apples that are in Norse mythology? I'm afraid my knowledge of Norse dieties is quite limited... though I know that they had little, if nothing to do with the Grecco-Romanesque myths beyond sharing a few episodes of kickass shows like Hercules and Xena... _________________ "Does anyone ever truly think 'outside' of the box, or are they merely expanding the possibilities of what that box can hold to suit their own agenda?"

Oh, me too! I was totally in love with Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) when I was younger!!! (don't laugh please) and I also wrote a love letter to him!!! But, back to topic, then...
For the first, I vote for Surt - I don't really like Nun. Don't know why...
Second: Seth, of course! _________________ http://belldandy.freeblog.hu --> my blog site |

The Egyptians win hands down. All the time. You ask for proof? I say "Ha!" You either have Faith in your gods
or you don't.

| Well they're not real, so it's like Batman vs. Superman, Wolverine vs. Spider-Man. There not supposed to harm anyone, it's just fun to talk about the different qualities and aspects. |

uhmmm..ok!
So , Iguess it's about Wonderwoman VS bionic woman, then....ok...egyptian deities win! all the time! I am just following the same line of thoghts of Niankhkhnum, so it's because they are MY deities!
Hathor win against Athena (mostly when she transformed into Sekhmet!)
Horus wins Apollo because he's older and so much more experienced
but..
Isis wins all, because she is "The Great Magician"...(Aa HkAt?)

Isis and Hathor win here, too!
Uhm, surely I'm stupid, but...
Who's Baba?!
Another Norse god?
