Shortly after I joined this forum, I was reminded of an episode of G I Joe: A Real American Hero that I was always rather fond of and one that yould interest you guys. The episode is called "The Gods Below". The premise is that an archaeologist named Dr. Marsh has discovered a tomb dedicated to the Egyptian God Osiris. The terrorist organization's Cobra Commander learned of a rumor of great treasure within the tomb, so he kidnaps Dr. Marsh to discover the treasure's location.
Concerned for Dr. Marsh, the Egyptian government calls in G I Joe to find the missing doctor. It doesn't take long for Cobra's dimwitted lackeys to give away their position almost IMMEDIATELY to G I Joe. The Joes defeat the guards and take their uniforms, which of course, fools Cobra Commander.
When the joes finally reveal themselves, they grab Dr. Marsh and make a run for, only for them, and Cobra run into THE Osiris, who, announces himself as the Egyptian God of the Dead. Osiris decides to put the Joes to a test of strength and willpower, promising them eternal life in the underworld if they succeed, and to be devoured by Ammon if they fail. The test is they must battle a god named Set-Ret....and they get their butts handed to them on a silver platter, but Osiris is pleased by their courage and rewards the Joes.
Meanwhile, Cobra Commander finds himself face to face with Seth, Osiris' "Half brother". Cobra Commander promises to build an army for Seth, so Seth gives Cobra Commander the treasure so he may acquire more resources. What Cobra Commander does not know is that the treasure of Osiris imprison Seth within the pyramid. When Cobra Commander takes it, he also frees Seth. The Joes agree to help Osiris re-imprison Seth, by regaining the treasure, which they do. Osiris, once again pleased, decides to spare their lives, though Anubis was still probably mad at duke calling him "dog face" _________________ "The last thing you will hear is the cracking of your vertebrae.....one...BY ONE!!!!!" |

This isn't exactly appropriate for this forum. You should post stuff like this in the coffee lounge. _________________ .............. Are you dead yet? |

C'Mon, Anubis - Gods and Goddesses! Sure, it might not be exactly pertaining to exact ancient Egypt, but it has to do with Ancient Egypt. The Coffee Lounge is more for random "how was your day" chat crap.
I'm looking forward to the pics, if you can find any! |

I have an Egyptologist G.I. Joe doll that I got a few years ago. Came with a sarcophagus with a mummy inside it. It's pretty cool. I've spent literally an hour at least trying ot find a picture of it on the internet but no luck. _________________
